Hello Davis Dance Family and Newcomers,

Davis Dance is turning 18, and it feels great! The company is stepping into this

new chapter inspired and motivated to make a positive, forward-thinking artistic

footprint in the Denver dance community and beyond. We’re excited to start a

new season of excellent programming, dance education collaborations, amazing

dance concerts, opening a new academy for the Denver community, and having

you in the audience to witness everything we have in store.

Outside of the artistic programming, Davis Dance will host community open

classes and master teacher dance classes in our new home, the Terrell Davis

Academy of Dance in downtown Denver. Opening this academy will allow more

access to dance for youth of color, especially African American and Hispanic

young artists. We will continue our “Davis at the Theatre” concert ticket program

to allow underserved communities, groups, and new audience members the

opportunity to experience a live dance concert with free tickets, discounted

tickets, and meet and greets.

Our annual gala,“Light up the Night, will be fun and very exciting on October

25th, featuring a Halloween theme. Get your costumes ready for the costume

contest! We kick off our season with this annual black-tie community event,

raising funds for Davis Dance and Davis Dance Next Generation. This is our

biggest fundraiser of the year and sets the company up for a successful year of

programming. It’s an exciting evening filled with wonderful dancing by the main

company and Davis Dance Next Generation, our competitive silent auction, a VIP

cocktail hour with the annual sunset champagne toast, and tasty food to boot!

Our opening season concert series, "Contemporary Voices in Dance," will take place at our home, the Elaine Wolf Theatre, from January 16th - 18th. It will feature a Davis Dance fan favorite,“Laura’s Story,” and the premiere of “Elements of Sound,” both choreographed by me.

Our Resident Choreographer, Rachael Harding, will re-stage her powerful work “See Me.” The company is commissioning a new cutting-edge contemporary work,“Nighthawks,” from featured choreographer Lauren Pedersen through our “Creating the Next: Emerging Choreographers” program, now in its second installment. Our Share the Stage guest performers will be the electrifying

Boulder Ballet under new Artistic Director Ben Needham-Wood. We are thrilled

to have them back performing two works on the program.

The company will return to the Aurora community to perform at the Aurora

Performing Arts Center in our annual “Davis at the Fox” performance on

February 28th, with two shows. This collaborative concert will feature Davis

Dance, Davis Dance Next Generation, and Aurora Dance Arts. This intimate

show is a program highlight of our season that you won’t want to miss.

Our annual “A Summer Night of Dance” will take place May 15th – 17th, 2026,

marking our end-of-season full concert weekend. It will feature three world

premieres: a new work by Resident Choreographer Rachael Harding, a

contemporary piece by me, and a solo choreographed and performed by me as

well. Guest choreographer and friend of Davis Dance, Chloé-Grant Abel, will

re-stage and revise her heart-grabbing work “Tremor,” and the company will

perform an encore of “Elements of Sound” to round out the program. Returning

as our Share the Stage guest artists will be the Maureen Breeze Dance

Company, performing two works by Artistic Director and choreographer Maureen

Breeze. Davis Dance Next Generation will host its annual youth concert in

collaboration with other youth companies in “A Summer Afternoon of Dance” on

Saturday May 16th.

Our summer will be full of community engagements and performances. We’ll

return to the Mile High Dance Festival hosted by Cleo Parker Robinson

Dance, head to Boulder to teach and perform at the Boulder Jazz Dance

Workshop, and welcome back the Davis Dance Summer Intensive for young

and adult dancers in Denver. We have a jam-packed season ahead.

We are blessed to have the opportunity to share what we do with the communities we serve. Davis Dance is small but mighty, delivering in spectacular fashion the “Dance That Feeds Your Soul”that we are known for. We’re excited for our 18th season -"ContemporaryVoices in Dance.” Let’s Dance!

Warm regards,

Terrell Davis :)
