Hello Davis Dance Family, Friends, and Newcomers!

Davis Dance is about to embark on an anniversary season of spectacular dance, community connection, artist collaborations, and mind blowing live dance performances that the company is known for delivering every time it hits the stage.

We are excited to announce some highlights to come in our 15 & Forward milestone season. What a major accomplishment for an arts organization of our size. Davis Dance is small, but has always been mighty! We’ve become a beacon of light and a pillar in the Denver dance community, and stand in this status with pride.

Our annual gala “Light up the Night” returns to the Curtis Ballroom on November 5th. Get your best masquerade attire (or black tie) ready for a fun evening of fundraising that includes a competitive silent auction, games, heart warming testimonies, and of course great dance from the company and our pre-professional ensemble Davis Dance Next Generation. You don’t want to miss the kick off event for our next season.

Our opening season concert series will be one to remember. Rachael Harding has served as the company's Resident Choreographer for the past six seasons and we will be celebrating the brilliance of our friend, fellow creative, and one of a kind dance artist. Rachaell has created some amazing works for the company and we will be presenting an entire evening of her choreography, including a world premiere! We are excited to honor Rachael’s choreographic achievements within Davis Dance and to celebrate her legacy that is 22 years deep in Denver.

Our annual Summer Night of Dance will be jam-packed with “Dance that Feeds Your Soul” and then some. Davis Dance’s longtime fans will be excited to know that “Life According to Annie” that premiered in 2008 will make its return to the stage this year. A Davis Dance premiere of “Rise up, Believe, and Never Quit” with new sections will be revived after its 2018 premiere at Denver School of the Arts. Davis Dance is eager and honored to announce that the heart grabbing and thought provoking work by Kevin “Iega” Jeff of Deeply Rooted “Church of Nations” will have its Davis Dance premiere. This classic piece was created in 1991 by Mr. Jeff and is personally one of my favorite pieces I’ve performed in my career. This piece was commissioned specifically for our 15th season as Davis Dance turns the page forward into another era of great concert dance and beyond. The concert series will be rounded out with our tenth anniversary premiere work “From Us, to You”, that I created as a thank you to you, our supporters and champions of Davis Dance. Wow, what a show!

Our summer will take us into the communities we serve performing in some of the best dance festivals Colorado has to offer. Davis Dance will make its Presenting Denver Dance Festival premiere, followed by our annual return to the Mile High Dance Festival hosted by Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. We will conclude our season in Boulder, Colorado at the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop.

You don’t want to miss any of this celebratory season. We’re excited to host, uplift, provoke your thoughts, inspire, and give you all the “Dance That Feeds Your Soul” that Davis Dance is known for. See you at the theatre, and don’t forget to bring a friend or two so they can celebrate and witness our 15 & Forward milestone season.

Let’s Dance!
